Frequently Asked Questions

Are there assessments or exams in the course?

When you fill out the application form, you will find the Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test. You may access the application forms any time by going to the Courses page.

What are the requirements needed to qualify for the government funding program?

You must meet or have the following requirements:

  • Proof of DOB
  • Proof of QLD residency (driver's license, house rental contract)
  • A permanent resident visa and medicare
  • should not be previously enrolled in Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma courses

Will I be assigned a facility for placement?

We have partnered with several facilities to provide the best placement experiences to our students. Students are required to fill out an application form and the facilities then confirm if they are able to accept the student. Apex does not assign a facility to a student but supports and helps them with their application to the facility they want to join. Students are allowed to find placement facilities outside of the ones that Apex has partnered with if there is a specific preference.

What career support do you provide?

Please refer to the course fact sheets on the Resources page.

When can I get my certificate?

Certificates are given out to all students that complete their course work. This includes in class assignments as well as placements. Upon completion, the trainers review all of the assigned work and placement workbooks and if they are satisfactory, a certificate is then issued within 3 weeks of completion.

I have qualifications, training and/or experience in this field. Can I get my previous training or experience credited?

You most certainly can. There are a number of things that can be done to reduce the amount of time and units you need to study, including:

  • Recognition of prior learning - this process recognises previous work experience, previous formal and informal education among other things;
  • Recognition of statements of attainments issued by other RTOs - known as credit transfers; and,
  • Recognition of qualifications issued by other RTOs - also known as credit transfers.

For more information on all these programs, please check out the Student Handbook found on the Resources page.
