Why Study CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support

A CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support will enable you to provide person-centred support to those requiring assistance due to disability, ageing, or illness. In this line of work, you are accountable for the well-being of your clients and will use discretion regarding the care you give.

This foundational course will equip you with procedural, factual, technical and theoretical information. Such groundwork will enable you to provide unique individual care within a framework that you can reference - giving you confidence as you encounter many different and novel situations..

A CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is an important qualification to help you confidently enter a wide variety of caring roles. These include (among others):

  • Accommodation support worker
  • Care assistant
  • Care service employees
  • Care worker
  • Community care worker
  • Community support worker

  • Field officer
  • Home care assistant
  • In-home respite worker
  • Nursing assistant
  • Personal care assistant
  • Personal caregiver

  • Support worker

This course offers you two specialisations - ageing and disability. You can choose to study one or more of these specialisations, depending on the line of work you wish to pursue.

You can also look forward to enormous scope regarding future job opportunities. With increases in NDIS funding and given Australia’s ageing population (and the prevalence of disability increasing with age), this line of work has many stable prospects for you.

Raylee Gormley

Trainer

I have worked in the community services/disability/aged care and mental health sectors for over 20 years – firstly as a support worker, then working my way to be the Manager of a Disability Provider organisation. Starting as a support worker has given me the insight into training future support workers and AINs – and I can also relate to their issues, anecdotes and anxieties students experience within this industry.

Noime Paumig

Trainer

I have been working in aged care and as a nursing aid for over 10 years now. I started as a Personal Care Assistant which allowed me to have hands-on experience in taking care of residents in the Aged Care facility. Current training was done during the whole duration of my work and with that, I have been more knowledgeable on how to face every circumstance and situations with the workplace.
